You can use the OverDrive app to get ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and streaming videos from your library.
How to borrow and enjoy titles in the OverDrive app
- Install the OverDrive app from the Apple App Store and sign in.
- Add your library to the app and open its digital collection.
- Find an available title in your library's collection and tap Borrow.
Or, tap the title's jacket to open its details page and learn more about it.
If prompted, sign into your library. - Choose a lending period for the title (if available).
Then, tap Borrow again. - After you borrow the title, you can:
- Select Read now with Kindle (U.S. only) to go to Amazon's website and send the book to your Kindle or Kindle reading app.
- Download EPUB ebooks and MP3 audiobooks to your app Bookshelf.
- Add streaming videos to your app Bookshelf.
Note: Because streaming videos can't be downloaded, you'll still need an internet connection to watch them once they're added to the app. - Some titles (like magazines and read-along ebooks) can only be read in your web browser. For these titles, tap Read now in browser to be taken out of the app and into your Safari browser to read them. These titles aren't added to your Bookshelf in the OverDrive app.
- Close the pop-up window to keep browsing and borrowing.
- Select Read now with Kindle (U.S. only) to go to Amazon's website and send the book to your Kindle or Kindle reading app.
To see all of your borrowed titles, tap at any time to go to your Loans page.

How to borrow and enjoy titles in the OverDrive app
- Install the OverDrive app from the Apple App Store and sign in.
- Add your library to the app and open its digital collection.
- In your library's digital collection, look for an available title. You can:
- Browse the titles on the home page.
- Use the menu at the top of the page to browse categories.
- Run a search.
- When you find a title that looks interesting, tap it, then tap Borrow.
Or, tap more to view the title's details page. From here, tap Borrow.
If prompted, sign into your library. - Find titles you've borrowed on your Checkouts page (under your Account). From here, you can:
- Select Read now with Kindle (U.S. only) to go to Amazon's website and send the book to your Kindle or Kindle reading app.
- Select Add to app to add ebooks, audiobooks, and streaming videos to your app Bookshelf.
