In attempting to make life easier for their customers, and to help “fool-proof” Mac OS X Lion, Apple made some user-level changes, such as defaulting to hiding the user’s library directory. While this may be best for inexperienced users, some of us want or even need access to the user Library directory.

Several methods surfaced that work to show the user Library folder in OS X Lion and Mountain Lion – but Macworld’s Dan Frakes points out that there’s an even easier way to show the user Library folder in OS X Mavericks – just open up Finder, navigate to your user folder, press Command+J to bring up the folder’s view options, and select the Show Library Folder.

It’s that simple – and I’m glad to see someone at Apple recognizes that people want access to the Library folder without having to jump through a lot of hoops!
