Feb 06, 2020 Click the 'File' menu. Mac users will see the option 'Add to Library,' while PC users will see 'Add Folder to Library'. Click whichever of these options appears for you, and allow iTunes to open a browsing window. There is also the option to ‘Add File to Library’, but this will only add a single song, rather than an entire folder of songs. You may want to create a new iTunes library folder for many different reasons. If you're like me, you've moved your library folder to an external hard drive, and now iTunes complains at you when you try to open it. Mar 09, 2015 By default, iTunes only offers an option to add music files to the library. This limitation forces you to repeat the action over and over to add files from different folders, which could take forever to complete. Fortunately, there is a hidden option that allows you to.
The first step would be to create a folder to house all your music files that you want to transfer to iTunes.
1. Create a new folder on your Windows 10 desktop by right clicking anywhere on the screen and choosing New > Folder (See image below).
2. After creating a new folder, give a proper name to the folder. You can call it Master Folder or something else that is suitable for your needs.
3. Now, drag the songs that you want to add to iTunes into this newly created folder.
Note: In case you want to be more organized, you can even create sub-folders and place these sub folders into the master folder that you are preparing to transfer to iTunes.
Add Folders to iTunes
While it appears like iTunes only allows you to add music files to iTunes library, there is actually a hidden option in iTunes that allows you to transfer folders containing multiple music files.
Not many people are aware of this option, because the option to add folders to iTunes is normally not visible when you land on iTunes from a Windows computer.
Follow the steps below to reveal this hidden option and add the folder containing multiple music files or even sub-folders containing music files to your iTunes library.
1. Launch iTunes on your computer. You need to install iTunes on your computer in case you do not have it installed yet.

As you can see from the image in step#1 above, the menu bar which provides the option to add folders to iTunes is hidden when you land on iTunes from a Windows computer. Hence, this second step to access the hidden menu bar by pressing CTRL + B keys on your computer.

Once the folder is selected, iTunes will begin to scan for music files in the selected folder and start the process of adding music files to your iTunes library.
The process of transferring files from your Computer to iTunes will take its own time, depending on the number of songs contained in the folder.
While the files are being transferred, you can still use iTunes as you normally do.
You can always add music files to iTunes. After you save or copy an MP3, AIFF, or WAV file on your hard drive, you can simply drag it into the iTunes window to bring it into your library. If you drag a folder or disk icon, all the audio files that it contains are added to your iTunes library.
You can also choose File→Add to Library on a Mac, or File→Add File to Library and File→Add Folder to Library on a Windows PC, as an alternative to dragging.
When you add a song to your iTunes library, a copy is placed inside the iTunes Music folder; that is, as long as you have your iTunes preferences set for Copy Files to iTunes Music Folder When Adding to Library. (This is the default setting, which you can find in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences dialog.)

If you have files in another folder or on another hard drive that you want to add to the iTunes library without copying into the iTunes Media folder, you can copy a link to the original files instead:
Choose iTunes→Preferences (Mac) or Edit→Preferences (Windows).
Click the Advanced tab in the iTunes Preferences dialog box.
Turn off the Copy Files to iTunes Media Folder When Adding to Library setting.
You can check out the contents of your iTunes Media folder by using the Finder on a Mac or Windows Explorer on a Windows PC.

MP3 CDs are easy to add because they’re essentially data CDs. Simply insert them into your CD-ROM drive, open the CD in the Finder, and drag and drop the MP3 song files into the iTunes window. Downloaded song files are even easier — just drag and drop the files into iTunes. If you drag a folder or CD icon, all the audio files it contains are added to your iTunes library.
